Thomas Crisp, Owner and Creative Director

Thomas Crisp is the proud Owner and Creative Director of Balance Hair Spa. He has worked in the beauty industry for over 25 years, starting with opening his first salon right out of beauty school at age 20.

As our Creative Director, Thomas keeps all of our colorists and stylists current with the latest techniques and treatments. He schedules classes, workshops and trade shows for our designers to attend and grow. He also keeps himself up to date on all the latest hair trends by attending many classes and workshops and then shares his knowledge with our team of designers. He will consult with new clients who need some advice and will help find the best designer for their needs.

Since opening his first salon Thomas has always continued to educate himself by attending business building and beauty workshops including training at Vidal Sasoon, Aveda Strictly Business, and Alterna Academy. He has been trained and worked with several product lines including Paul Mitchelle, Wella, Toco Magico, Bio Ionic, Alterna and many more.

His passion for hair and beauty has brought Thomas much success in the industry. He had opened and operated numerous salons and spas in the Atlanta region before leaving to become a national educator for Alterna. Many of those salons are still successful to this day due to the foundation that Thomas left the new owners.

While as an educator for Alterna, a high quality hair care line, Thomas trained licensed cosmotologists and salons about the latest cutting techniques and treatments including Japanese straightners.  During this time Thomas was traveling every week doing classes, workshops, hair shows, and platform work. After relocated several times he decided to settling down in Exton, PA. Thomas enjoyed teaching and meeting salon owners while working with Alterna and many times, because his own experience, would give his professional advice on business issues that salon owners face.

After seeing the success that many of his clients received from taking his advice, Thomas began to miss the daily operations of running his own salon and spa, and speaking with regular clients and seeing their satisfaction of coming to him. over 10 years ago, Thomas and Biff decided that it was time to start their own business again and opened Balance Hair Spa.

Thomas is a charming person with a wonderful, friendly personality who gives great advice on what would look best for each and every client. He wants each guest to enjoy the time spent in his chair or his business and wants you to leave happy and feeling better about yourself.
