"What a wonderful overall experience and atmosphere from beginning to finish. Very professional, yet friendly. And, most importantly, I have received the best haircut for my wavy hair with Thomas. He is good with layered cuts and helping provide appropriate cut for the person. I enjoy the products you sample on me and the wonderful tea and goodies you offer to keep me feeling pampered. "I had a fabulous experience. I have been back on two other occasions to buy additional product. Overwhelmingly, everyone I have encountered "cares" -- they give the impression of being knowledgeable, passionate about what they do and wanting to connect with me the customer. How great is that? So many times at spas, the employees are more interested in talking with eachother gossiping about things that I, the customer, really do not want to overhear -- rather than engaging the customer. At Balance, the focus was on me. After two years of trying recommended products for my gray witchy hair, the staff at Balance had a recommendation that really helps. Thank you."

"The Bio·Ionic Hair Straightening process (japanese straightening) was the best thing I ever did for my hair! Here it is 6 months later, and it is just starting to be a little wavy in the roots -- and still pretty straight!! I got so many compliments on this. I recommend Steven and Balance Hair Spa to everyone. Bio·Ionic Straightening does NOT harm your hair. It is soft, shiny, smooth and straight. It is never staticky , dry or flyaway. It looks in better condition than when it was curly. I NEVER have to use a flat iron -- I gave mine away! I totally love it. It's the easiest hair "do" I ever had. I will be in for another straightening as soon as I need it -- you can be sure. And the salon is gorgeous!!"

"I got my hair cut by Thomas and it looks great! I usually have problems with my hair as it gets too much volume because it is curly. He did a great job and what is even better my hair looks pretty good even the next day (which had never happened before). The products they offer seem to work very well on controlling frizz for my type of hair - curly, thick hair prone to a lot of frizz."

"I was interested in getting my hair straightened for a long time, but was afraid of results and not confident with any hair stylist I'd come in contact with. I saw Steven's results first-hand and was amazed. The girls highly recommended Balance Hair Spa and Steven. I was unsure of what I wanted so I made a consultation appointment for the Keratin treatment to start. Stephen steered me away from the process based on what my interests were and told me I'd be much happier with the Japanese straightening. He was exactly correct. A week later I was scheduled and walked out with my dream hair. It is absolutely life changing. I have not had to blow my hair dry once yet. It dries beautifully on its own, and the result is better than after I'd work for 45 minutes straightening it and then I'd walk outside and frizz up. The real test was down the shore last weekend and I looked just like my hair was just done even on the beach. I get so many compliments. People aren't sure if I colored my hair or cut it, but they surely notice the difference. The only thing I am sorry about is that I waited so long."

"I recently went to a salon in my town to go from long hair to very short. While I liked the new cut -- it wasn't done properly. I still had very thick sides. It was uneven all around. I called Balance and got an appointment with Thomas. When I came in I asked him if he could rescue my hair. When he was all done, I absolutely loved my cut. It's sooo adorable -- and so me! "I was in for a Brazilian keratin straightening treatment. The results were nothing short of fantastic! My hair is thick and extremely curly. It has a mind of its own and will only adhere to a style in dry weather. After the keratin treatment my hair felt soft and silky, but retained much of the body. Now after 4 months my hair is still very managable, taking a lot less maintainance and less fretting over during the day. I didn't realize how much time I actually invested in my hair before the keratin treatment. It actually reduced my stress level! Thank you Thomas for giving me the opportunity to experience this!"

Then I got a precise hair cut with Thomas, the salon's owner. He is really nice and very personable. I have fine limp hair and somehow he cut body and fullness into it. It still looks great even as it grows out. Thomas also recommended a new line of organic products to help me style my new cut at home. The salon's surroundings are very bright and fresh. "I will never go to another salon again! Balance Hair Spa's owner and creative director, Thomas Crisp, has been coloring and cutting my hair for two years. He is very conscientious about my hair health and does an amazing job with his highlighting technique -- I have many shades of shiny blond.
